How To Choose Solar Outdoor Lights

Solar Outdoor Lights is a very popular outdoor lighting. It has the characteristics of energy saving, environmental protection, simplicity and beauty, and easy installation. Solar outdoor lights can be seen on rural roads, park squares, garden scenic spots, and outdoor courtyards. Now, let's take a look at how to choose Solar Outdoor Lights correctly.

1. Solar panels

There are three types of solar panels for solar lighting on the market: monocrystalline silicon solar panels, polycrystalline silicon solar panels, and amorphous silicon solar panels. The conversion rate of monocrystalline silicon solar panels is higher, between 15-21%, followed by polycrystalline silicon solar panels, which can reach 16%, and the cost is also lower than that of monocrystalline silicon solar panels, so they are used by more lighting manufacturers.

2. Battery
There are currently four different types of rechargeable batteries, lithium phosphate, acid, nickel metal hydride, and nickel cadmium, which are used in solar outdoor lights. Low-power solar outdoor lights morely use metal hydride nickel and nickel-cadmium batteries, which are economical and durable; high-power solar outdoor lights morely use lithium phosphate and -acid batteries, although the cost is higher, but also safer and more durable. Generally speaking, lithium phosphate batteries have higher specific energy than -acid, carry more energy while maintaining a smaller size and lighter weight, and have a longer cycle life cycle.

3. Number and brightness of light sources

The main function of solar outdoor lights is to illuminate a certain area at night, and users need to select the corresponding power and brightness of light according to this area. Solar outdoor lights are morely LED lamp beads. The specific power depends on the size and number of LED lamp beads. Generally, the more the number of lamp beads, the higher the brightness; the higher the power, the higher the height, and the larger the irradiation area.

4. IP rating
As a lamp that needs to be weathered outdoors, its protection level is also an important factor that cannot be ignored when purchasing. IP is the international code used to identify the protection level. It consists of two numbers: the number represents the degree of dust resistance, and the second number represents the degree of waterproofing. The larger the number, the better the protection effect. The common waterproof grades of outdoor lighting products are generally IP65 and IP66. These two waterproof grades are sufficient to meet the needs of daily outdoor lighting applications. For lamps and lanterns that may be subject to flooding conditions, such as underground lamps, the waterproof grades are generally IP67 and IP68.
